Peal Boards

There have been a total of 92 peals rung at Pattingham. Some have been ring to mark particular occasions. In common with other towers some special peals are commemorated in peal boards in the ringing chamber.

Until 2006 there were two peal boards in the Ringing Chamber. One records the first peal on the bells and the other the first peal of major by an all local band.
Photographs of those are here (click on the picture to see a larger version of it.)

Two new peal boards have been donated. These commemorate the first peal by a local band (in 1974) and the last peal on the old oak frame and the first peal on the new steel frame. They were dedicated at Evensong on Sunday 24th September 2006 and now hang in the Ringing Chamber. (Again – click on the picture for a larger version.)
